[For Adults and Teens]Celebrate Women’s History Month with local historian Jessie Serfilippi as she traces the remarkable life of Deborah Sampson—from her birth into poverty, to her courageous service in the Continental Army disguised as a man, and ultimately to her later years as the first woman in the newly formed United States to embark on a book tour. Sampson’s story is one of resilience, independence, and determination, offering a powerful example of a woman who chose to live on her own terms long after the Revolutionary War ended. Her journey continues to inspire courage and bravery in all who seek to live boldly and forge their own path. This program is generously funded and provided by the Friends of the RCS Community Library.
