The air is crisp and trees are beginning to put on their fall show. Now is a perfect time to explore Ravena Coeymans Selkirk! Here’s an easy day trip itinerary of some things to see and do in the area.

You can’t explore on an empty stomach. Let’s start with a visit to the new Adonai’s Pizza in Selkirk. Dine in and enjoy a whole pie or grab a slice (or two) for the road!
A short drive from Adonai’s Pizza is Farmer Jon’s. This family owned farm stand has pumpkins of every size and shape. If you can’t find your perfect pumpkin on display, there are literally bins full of more you can browse through. By sheer pumpkin volume, Farmer Jon’s is the pumpkin king of RCS. The kids are sure to enjoy the new pumpkin slide!
After you’ve packed your car full of pumpkins, you’re off to your next destination. Now, you have some choices to make. If you love antiques or thrift store shopping, plan to spend your time exploring Ravena’s Antique’s Trail. You’ll find five stores all within a half mile of each other full of treasures. Read all about the Antique Trail here.
If you’re looking to stretch your legs and take in some nature, why not explore some of RCS’s hiking trails? Let’s head out to Joralemon Park. This Town of Coeymans park has easy trails to enjoy all of fall’s glory. There is a nice stream here for the kids to wade in, a playground, tennis and basketball and new bathroom facilities.

Joralemon Park also has disc golf and an active league that plays on Tuesdays. Oh…and perhaps you’ll want to plan your day trip for Saturday, October 19, 2024 when Coeymans Hollow Fire Department hosts its much anticipated 9th Annual Horror in the Hollow Haunted Hayride at the park! Prepare to be frightened!
On your way to or from Joralemon Park, be sure to stop in at Eck’s Farmstand. You’ll pass right by it on Route 143. They have beautiful mums, pumpkins, lots of vegetables, baked goods and other snacks you can enjoy on the car ride.
Another hiking option is Hannacroix Creek Preserve. This park has two trails. One will take you down to the Hudson River and the other will take you to a lovely waterfall. The river loop is relatively easy. The waterfall hike is moderately challenging. Either will get you close to nature and the beauty of the Hudson Valley.
Why not round out your day with dinner at a local restaurant? We always recommend waterfront dining at Yanni’s Too in Ravena. This is a casual restaurant so hiking attire is fine. You’ll overlook the Hudson River and the marina as you nibble on Yanni’s famous calamari or another appetizer before your entrees arrive.
Another nearby option is Rail to River Brewing. The brewery’s owners, Stephen and Tracy, encourage patrons to bring in food from local restaurants. A pint pairs really well with BBQ from Smokin’ Pig Bakery and Deli. There’s also Chinese just down the block or Trackside Pizza is right next door.
No matter what you choose to do you’ll have a great time. Come discover Ravena Coeymans and Selkirk in the fall!
