[For adults & kids]
Explore the connection between biodiversity, design and sustainability. Learn how studying nature can inspire innovative solutions for climate change and transform the way we design the places where we live and work.
Meet Brandy Americk, Senior Project Manager at NYS Office of General Services, Design & Construction. She has a Bachelors of Engineering in Civil Engineering and Masters of Science in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Biomimicry from Arizona State University. Brandy has over a decade of experience working in the built environment. She started her career in general contracting managing railroad track and heavy civil projects until she pivoted her career towards implementing sustainability and resiliency into design and construction projects. Her goal is to design and implement projects, processes, and systems that mitigate climate change, adapt to changing environments, and meet the needs of the users. Brandy believes that changing the lens in which we view the built environment is the only way we will be able to create a more sustainable and resilient world.
