King of the Armadillos by Wendy Chin-Tanner

Victor Chin’s life is turned upside down at the age of 15 when he is diagnosed with Hansen’s disease – otherwise known as leprosy. Victor must leave his home in the Bronx to quarantine with patients from all over the country at a federal institution. At first, Victor is scared but eventually he finds a sense of freedom away from family obligations. When a life-changing cure appears in the not-too-distrant future, he has difficult choices to make. 

Books are available at the library and new members are always welcome. No registration is required.
