Haunted hayride delivered thrills and chills

/ / Community

The sound of screams and chainsaws pierced the night at Joralemon Park on Saturday, October 19. For nine years the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Company has put on Horror in the Hollow, a spectacular haunted hayride that attracts hundreds of people to this town park.

Hilltown Hags witches danced at the haunted hayride.

The Hilltown Hags danced and entertained guests.

In addition to the haunted hayride, the New Baltimore Fire Department served up hotdogs and other snacks. There was a bounce house, dancing witches from Hilltown Hags and goodies provided by Trinity Methodist Church.

While Horror in the Hollow was hosted by Coeymans Hollow Fire Company, many  organizations helped make the scary night a reality.

  • East Berne Fire Company
  • Cornell Hook & Ladder Company
  • Hilltown Hags
  • Town of Coeymans Police Department
  • Albany County Sheriff’s Office
  • Town of Coeymans
  • Town of Coeymans Highway Department
  • Albany County Sheriff’s Office
  • Francisco Equipment
  • Ravena Rescue Squad
  • Radley Enterprise
  • RCS High School
  • Coxsackie-Athens High School

Many businesses contributed tractors and drivers to the event:

  • Farmer Jon’s
  • Venetten Farms
  • Flach Industries
  • Jeff Lukens
  • Collins and Sons
  • Ecks Farms

Track 32 and Frese’s Bakery fed the fire department that day. The Ravena Fire Department covered the Coeymans Hollow’s fire district during the event.

Horror in the Hollow is the Coeymans Hollow Fire Company’s largest fundraiser of the year. If you missed this year’s haunted hayride, it will be back in 2025.
