Spring Into Action: Youth Sports & Activities in the RCS Community

/ / Community

As the days grow longer and the weather warms up, spring brings fresh opportunities for kids in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk community to get moving, try something new, and build confidence. From team sports to creative movement and skill-based activities, there’s something for every child this season.

Here’s a look at just a few of the exciting options available locally:

Various spring activities for kids in Ravena Coeymans SelkirkDance at Elevate Dance

Located in Faith Plaza, Elevate Dance offers young dancers a chance to build strength, coordination, and confidence in a supportive environment. Whether your child is brand new to dance or continuing their training, spring is a great time to join a class, make new friends, and shine on stage. Learn more here.

STEM Learning at Ravena Innovation Station

For kids who love to build, create, and explore, Ravena Innovation Station offers engaging, hands-on STEM activities, robotics, and computer programming that spark curiosity and imagination. It’s a great complement to traditional sports, helping children develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and creativity. Take a look at the spring calendar and sign up!

Little League with Hudson Valley Little League

Spring means baseball season! Registration is now open at Hudson Valley Little League. T-ball and coach pitch are a fantastic introduction to the sport for young players, teaching basic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and encouraging setting. Other levels of play for older kids are also available. If your child has been eager to step up to the plate, now’s the time to sign up.

Peewee Wrestling (Pre-K and Up)

Peewee wrestling has kicked off and is already building momentum. Open to children starting in Pre-K, the program offers teams at both RCS schools, making participation  convenient for local families. Wrestling helps kids develop strength, discipline, and resilience — both on and off the mat. Contact your child’s teacher at Pieter B. Elementary or AW Becker Elementary for details.

A Season of Growth

Spring activities do more than fill afternoon. They help children build friendships, discover talents, and gain confidence that carries into the classroom and beyond. The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk community offers a variety of opportunities to get involved.
